OPLA Advocacy in Action: Excellence in Children’s or Teen Services Award

The OPLA Advocacy in Action Award is to honour excellent library staff working with children or youth. The award can be given to an individual or group. It can be a service-based project, a unique program, a community partnership, an outreach endeavor or an advocacy effort that you feel should be recognized and celebrated.

Criteria and Eligibility
Nominees must:

Be a current member in good standing of OLA/OPLA.
Currently work with children or youth.
Provide excellent service to children or youth.
 Be library technicians, library assistants, or anyone working directly with children or youth in a public library setting may be nominated for this award.

Nominators must also be a member in good standing of OLA/OPLA.

Timeline
March 31: Nominations Due
June Council Meeting: Nominations deliberated and decisions made
Early-Mid July: Nominators/Nominees informed of decisions and picture of winner(s) requested
Early-Mid August: Final award presentation details known and provided to Nominators/Nominees

What to Include

Please include background information about how this person or project displays advocacy and/ or excellence in its contribution to children and youth in your community.
Other inclusions can be letters of support, samples of their work, photographs, news clippings, etc.
